Angie was awarded a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Counselling Studies and a BACP Accredited DipHe Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Essex. She is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist.
Angie focused her studies on the long-term negative impact and Psychosocial consequences of learning difficulties, focusing upon: dyslexia, drug and alcohol abuse, self-harm, body image, suicidal ideation, depression, social isolation and anxiety. Prior to specialising in Person-Centred Counselling, Angie worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Addiction Treatment Program at The Priory Group for eight years. She delivered group therapy and aftercare to empower individuals and families to find their own resources to aid personal recover from the illness of addiction.
Angie also holds an HND in natural history illustration and three-dimensional design and brings this knowledge to creative therapeutic practice to embrace individuation, plurality and diversity. Angie unites her person-centred approach with other like-minded passionate professionals at Sanctuary Lodge. Her framework is structured upon personal empowerment, self-enabling behaviours and post traumatic growth. Such an approach aims to support individuals seeking to find a solution to their battle with addictive behaviours.
